At American Pool we have provided over 10,000 CPR and AED certifications over the years, and to this day we continue to stress the importance of emergency preparedness and safety training. On Thursday, March 30, our experienced Red Cross instructors from American Pool Edison and Berlin, NJ operations taught a CPR and AED class to the associates of Association Advisors, a property management company. The CPR training program for Association Advisors has been an ongoing partnership over the last six years, providing top of the line hands-on training to their employees.

Regardless of whether you are a pool owner or never around a pool, having the ability to properly administer CPR and an AED can be the difference between life and death. Unfortunately, no one can predict when and where an emergency will happen. Participants in these classes learn exactly what to do in an emergency situation, and are given the skill set to employ what they learn within seconds.

The Red Cross describes their First Aid, CPR, and AED training as a “course [that] will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants and meets OSHA/workplace requirements.” We continue to employ the Red Cross training method to all of our instructors, making sure that all the subsequent lifeguards have that same expert training as well.

Over 1,500 lifeguards are employed each season by American Pool in New Jersey alone, just one of the many states in which we operate, which goes to show safety training is a foundational aspect of our business. If your property management company or community is interested in partnering with us to increase poolside or community safety, contact your local American Pool location or fill out an online request here. Safety and emergency training is relevant to everyone, and we wanted to take it upon ourselves to help those in our community learn this valuable skill set.
