Owings Mills, Maryland — American Pool’s Guard for Life program trained 2,110 new American Red Cross Lifeguards in 2017. In recognition of this achievement and valued partnership with the American Red Cross, the company was presented with plaques for being in the top ten percent of lifeguard training providers. The Red Cross presented additional honors to entities who trained more than 200 lifeguards in the same calendar year. Five of American Pool’s operations surpassed that threshold, earning American Pool the distinction of being the sixth largest provider of Red Cross lifeguard training in the country.
The office’s regional rank was determined by comparing organizations to others within their local territory of Maryland, Delaware, and Northern Virginia. American Pool is proud to recognize the following offices for their outstanding achievements:

The American Red Cross has been the gold standard in lifesaving, water safety and swimming since 1914. In 2017, American Red Cross aquatic providers trained more than 350,000 Lifeguards nationwide. Proceeds (including course fees) from Red Cross training support the life-saving mission of the Red Cross including disaster relief, blood collection, and services to the Armed Forces. American Pool is a proud partner of the American Red Cross and uses its lifeguard certification program to train all of its Guard for Life Lifeguards.
